Why Can't We Be Friends

Let’s stay together as we continue on this journey to find love and happiness. I am so thankful that God gave the Holy Spirit to comfort me because I was so tired of being alone. I asked Him, “How can you mend a broken heart”, and what He did next was simply beautiful!  God gave me unlimited joy, and I can’t tell you how long ago it has been.  Aint it funny how time slips away? Every day I want to thank Him for the good times. I pray that He guide my steps because Lord, I can’t take my eyes off of you! I tried to do it myself but God said, “you ought to be with me!”, and my reply was here I am, come and take me! Inspired by the Rev. Al Green

Good day to you all!  Make a joyful noise because this is the day that the Lord has made!  There are so many people who are in need of your smile and your compassion.  There is someone who is in need of your friendship and your love!  Be who you are, and go do what God has for you to do!
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.  1 John 4:20
We live in a world of constant conflict.  There is always someone fighting about something.  From country to country, all the way down to conflicts between neighbors people don’t seem to like people very much.  There is probably someone at your job who has confessed to someone else that they don’t like you. Sometimes I look at the world and I wonder why.  I wonder why there is no brotherhood unless there is tragedy. I wonder why moments of silence and reflection can only come in moments when there is a tragic occurrence. Why our society would ban prayer in schools until an unfortunate incident takes the life of a student, and only then do we allow the students to pray together.  Why can’t we be brothers and sisters who believe in helping each other when we are in need?  Why can’t we be neighbors who look out for each other, and build each other up instead of trying to tear each other down?  Why can’t we be friends?

Dear Reader I want to encourage you to day to be a friend to someone who needs a friend.  In today’s landscape that should not be too hard to do.  There is someone who is suffering through the loss of a loved one, and family conflict is keeping them from being able to grieve.  They need a friend.  There is someone who is broken hearted and abused.  They need a friend.  Someone has just lost their job through no fault of their own, and they have bills, and don’t know how they are going to make it.  They need a friend.  There is power in prayer and God has empowered you to help someone get through something.  God has given you the compassion to help someone see their way through.  God gives us a testimony so that we can guide someone through the same dark valleys that we have been through.  We have a friend in Jesus, and through the example that He has given, we should know how to be a friend to someone who has hidden the tracks of their tears.  We may not be able to solve the problems of the world over night, but we can make a difference one person at a time.  We serve a God who loves us all, so there is no reason why we cannot be friends.

You are beautiful, loved, and blessed
